PJ Library sends free, high quality Jewish children's books to families worldwide every month. When families read together, something magical happens. PJ Library stories spark conversations that inspire families to explore and celebrate what they love about Jewish life.
For children aged 0-8, the PJ Library team selects and age-appropriate board book, picture book, or early chapter book. Older readers (ages 9-12) can enroll in PJ Our Way to choose their middle-grade book each month from a diverse collection of fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels.
Enhancing your children's connection to Jewish values, traditions, and celebrations is as simple as incorporating PJ Library storybooks into your family's reading routine.
A program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is made possible through partnerships with philanthropists and local Jewish organizations. PJ Library welcomes all Jewish families, regardless of their background, level of knowledge, family composition, or level of observance.
But It's Not Just Books!
Locally, PJ Library RVA brings Jewish families with young children together in person, powered by the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond. With the help of the PJ Library Team volunteers, we offer social and educational events and engaging opportunities all year long for families to gather and meet other Jewish families. Thanks to collaborative efforts with many of Richmond's Jewish agencies, PJ families have access to experience various options for their family's Jewish journey.
Our ongoing social initiatives include Little L'Chaim for parents and children under 2 and PJ at the Park for all PJ families. Our summer ColorSplash and Chanukah-themed LEGO & Latkes have become annual traditions. Parents with a child under one receive a Richmond Jewish welcome in the form of the Shalom Baby gift bag, thanks to the support of the Rachel B. Banks Youth Fund of the Richmond Jewish Foundation, Richmond's Jewish agencies, and generous local businesses.
