RICHMOND, VA – The Jewish Community Federation of Richmond offers deep appreciation to the FBI and law enforcement for their expertise in handling a potentially dangerous situation involving our houses of prayer.

According to the today’s Richmond Times-Dispatch, three men were recently arrested and are in custody as a result of their alleged plot to attack synagogues and African-American churches. The arrest of the men was a result of an undercover operation conducted by the FBI.

The JCFR, and its advocacy arm, the Jewish Community Relations Committee, will continue to work closely with local, state and federal officials to protect the Jewish community of Richmond. Together, we spearhead efforts to secure our community, agencies and buildings.

JCFR, and its JCRC, stand guard for the Jewish community and are ready to help all synagogues and churches to continue to protect themselves against potentially heinous crimes. We continue to teach vigilance, and “If You See Something, Say SomethingTM.”

We embrace the principles of pluralism, inclusion and the basic foundations of democracy, freedom of religion, and offer deep gratitude for the hard work and dedication of our tireless law enforcement agencies.
