Congratulations to our Federal Candidates in an Unprecedented Election

The Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC) of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond joins our partners at Jewish Federations of North America, JCPA, ADL, AJC, AIPAC, and Federations and JCRCs across the country in congratulating President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris for winning the 2020 Presidential Election. We also celebrate this historic moment as the first woman and woman of color has been elected Vice President.

We extend congratulations to our Virginia Federal legislators, Senator Mark Warner, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger and Congressman Don McEachin on their re-elections as well. We look forward to continuing to work together on behalf of Central Virginia.

An unprecedented number of Americans cast their vote and participated in this years’ elections. We thank the many dedicated officials, Republicans and Democrats, who ensured accessible, free and fair elections. Over the next several months, we hope to see a peaceful and constructive transfer of power. Such transitions are a bedrock of our American democracy and are vital to the faith in our ongoing experiment in self-government.

We urge our Richmond Jewish community, and all Americans, to work across differences and further the cooperation, compromise, and consensus-building that represents the best in what our country and community can be.
