Discover all that the Federation has to offer for families in Jewish Richmond.
PJ Library sends free, high-quality Jewish children's books to families worldwide every month. When families read together, something magical happens. PJ Library stories spark conversations that inspire families to explore and celebrate what they love about Jewish life.
For children aged 0-8, the PJ Library team selects an age-appropriate board book, picture book, or early chapter book. Older readers (ages 9-12) can choose their middle-grade book each month from a diverse collection of fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels.
Enhancing your children's connection to Jewish values, traditions, and celebrations is as simple as incorporating PJ Library storybooks into your family's reading routine.
A program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is made possible through partnerships with philanthropists and local Jewish organizations. PJ Library welcomes all Jewish families, regardless of their background, level of knowledge, family composition, or level of observance.
Jewish camp weaves Jewish values, culture, and traditions into the fabric of camp, helping campers to connect to their own identity and the larger Jewish community. Spirited and dynamic staff members use experiential learning to reveal what makes Jewish religion and culture unique today. At camp, Jewish and Israeli culture is celebrated through song, food, art, and dance.
The impact of Jewish camp is immediate—campers return home connected to a community and friends that will last them a lifetime. And it doesn't stop there. Children with pivotal Jewish camp experiences are likelier to become adults who value their Jewish heritage, support Jewish causes, and take on leadership roles in their communities.
Jewish Community Federation of Richmond is proud to provide scholarships and special grants for several educational initiatives, enabling parents to send their children to overnight summer camps and participate in Israel Experience programs. Nothing makes Jewish identity and history come alive for young people like an Israel Experience program or a Jewish summer camp!
