Richmond Delegation Sees First-Hand, War-Torn Jewish Ukraine
I had planned to go on a Mission to the Ukraine, June 14-18, with four other Richmonders but an accident in May forced me to cancel. I am pleased to report to the community our Richmond delegation of Mark Sisisky, Richard Samet, Zach Sisisky, Michal Coffey and Matt Langsam made up 50 percent of the volunteers on the mission and were part of a national mission by the Jewish Federations of North America and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. The following are daily blog entries submitted during their mission. They saw first-hand, the many challenges facing the war-torn nation’s 350,000 Jews.
This crisis speaks to the most fundamental reasons why Jewish Federations are so critical: We do not turn away. We make a difference.
