A special presentation with guest speaker Heather Waters, a respected filmmaker, community business leader, and CEO of the Richmond International Film Festival (RIFF), the RIFF Arts Institute, CWA, and The Indie MIX. Recognized as a steadfast ally of the Jewish community, Heather will share her firsthand experiences confronting antisemitism and the growing BDS movement over the past two years. Having just returned from Israel as part of a Special Delegation for Diplomacy and Film, Heather will offer a deeply personal account of her visits to the October 7 massacre sites and reflections from meaningful conversations there centered on reconciliation, healing, and peace-building. She will explore how communities in Richmond, across Israel, the Palestinian territory, and around the world can unite to drive change and build a more compassionate, hopeful future for all.
