Stories of Immigration from Richmond's Jewish Community

On Sunday, February 16th from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at the Weinstein JCC, the Richmond Jewish community will gather for a special panel discussion called Coming to America: Stories of Immigration from Richmond's Jewish Community. We will celebrate Richmond's Jewish immigration history and discuss how those immigration stories are both similar to and different from today’s immigrants to Richmond.

This event will be moderated by Mark Sisisky and panelists include Roben Farzad, Jay Ipson and Janet Meyers, who will share their family immigration stories. A Guatemalan immigrant to Richmond, Felipe Marroquin, will also share his family’s story. The program also includes a sneak peek of “Draw Back the Curtain,” a forthcoming documentary about Richmond's Soviet Jewish community.
