June 2026 Session: Birds in the Bible/Tanakh

Tuesday, June 2, 2026, 7 to 8 PM on Zoom

In this class, we will be looking at a selection of birds in the Bible/Tanakh, especially those on the “do not eat” list from Leviticus 11. We will start with viewing several exceptional 1500-year-old Byzantine era mosaic floors each featuring many bird verities. Then we will read other references to these birds in the Bible/Tanakh, and look at archaeological artifacts where these bird images have been preserved. Join us for this fun and fascinating discussion on our feathered friends.
