In a meaningful collaboration between the Virginia Holocaust Museum, RTA Richmond Hebrew Day School, and the Weinstein JCC 5400 Club, we invite you to a special morning of remembrance, storytelling, and intergenerational connection inspired by the life and legacy of Theodore Bikel, z”l. The program will begin with a guided tour of the Holocaust Museum for RTA middle school students and 5400 Club members, setting the stage for a deeper conversation about memory and identity. Following the tour, Aimee Ginsburg-Bikel—widow of Theo Bikel and curator of his centennial celebration—will lead a presentation and read City of Light, the children’s book she co-authored with Theodore Bikel, to both the students and seniors. The morning will conclude with facilitated breakout conversations, in which students will interview 5400 Club members to capture personal reflections and lived experiences. These intergenerational dialogues may be documented by a videographer, helping preserve the power of story and legacy for generations to come.
Special thanks to Shari Menlowe-Barck (5400 Club), Sorah Plotnick (RTA Richmond Hebrew Day School), and Katelynn Adams (Virginia Holocaust Museum) for their partnership in bringing this experience to life.
