A Unified Jewish World from Haaretz

For many years, the Jewish Agency has endeavored to achieve two main goals: to strengthen the bonds between Jews in the Diaspora, and to help build a better society here in Israel by closing social gaps and helping national priority areas. In 1994, the Jewish Agency, together with the United Jewish Communities and Keren Hayesod - United Israel Appeal, initiated a grand project whose ultimate goal makes both of these visions possible: Partnership 2000 (P2K).

My 5th Israeli Experience is Special with Friends from Emek Hefer

This past March I took a two week trip to Israel with my parents and sister. It was the fifth time I have been to Israel, four times with my family and once with the Melton Program. For my parents, it was the 11th  or 12th  time they have traveled to Israel. YUVAL DANIELI'S ROADS of REMEMBERANCE

Kibbutz born and bred artist and archivist Yuval Danieli is not only a prolific creator of thought provoking art but also an ardent guardian both through his art and archival work of remembrance to what was, what has become and deeply questioning the future, of kibbutz.
The tall, larger than life sixty-something kibbutznik with piercing blue eyes and a mop of hair fit for a teen, is a walking talking almanac of information with regard the kibbutz movement, individual kibbutzim and the colorful and not so colorful characters that founded and developed very special communities whilst helping to build a state of their own. Danieli's knowledge about the artists, their creations and the struggle they went through to have the culture of art recognized as an important component in the new societies of old, is truly mind boggling.

Emek Hefer is the Heart and Soul of Life in Israel

I explored the Emek Hefer region, with my wonderful hosts, Amira Lamdani and Renee Tal. They explained the growth that has been enjoyed in the Hefer Valley, the types of agriculture at each kibbutz and moshav (settlement), and the overall life, culture and traditions that make up Emek Hefer. I was warmly welcomed and spent my first Shabbat with (Richmond Israeli Shlicha)  Dana Ragosin¹s lovely parents on Kibbutz Givat Haim Meuchad. On this kibbutz I witnessed some of the 1,600 dairy cows being milked, while on some moshavim I saw the largest cucumber and flower producing farms in Israel. read more
